Grant Writing at UCC

susantaylor2

Umpqua Community College has a goal of increasing grant funding to support endeavors targeted to the college’s mission and strategic plan, such as:

  • Infrastructure
  • Research
  • Creative activities
  • Instructional programs
  • Public service projects
  • Professional development
The Grant Development Office is here to support faculty and staff throughout the grant writing and grant management processes. The staff provides training and pre-award assistance to help identify funding sources, develop program designs, write grant proposals, secure institutional approvals, and make grant applications. The Grant Development Office also provides post-award grant management support.

 The Grant Proposal Process

All applications for external funding must be reviewed and approved by Executive Council prior to submission. The process for submission includes:

  1. Consultation with Department Chair, Dean or VP
  2. Pre-application planning session with Grant Development Coordinator
  3. Draft proposal with the Grant Development Office

This process is necessary to ensure that UCC submits high quality, financially sound proposals that reflect the mission, plans and priorities of the college. Please consult with your Department Chair, Dean or Vice President regarding your project before beginning the grant writing process.

This website should provide all the resources you will need to create winning proposals for effective projects for your program. If you have further questions, please contact Susan Taylor in the Grant Development Office at (541) 440-7784 or Susan.Taylor(at)umpqua.edu.  You can also visit the Grant Development Office in its NEW location in the UCC Foundation Office in the Technology Center.
