Get the training you need for work or life through UCC Community Education. Whether you need your Boater Education Card or your Health Care Provider Card, your Driver's License or your Flagger Certification we have a class to meet your needs. All of our instructors are certified in their field and are well qualified to help you reach your training goal.

We Offer Non-Credit Instruction in the Following Areas

Driver Education
UCC Community Education offers a variety of Driver Education courses for those learning to drive, brush up on skills, or for work.

  » High School Driver Education Sessions
These ODOT certified classes include 30 hours of classroom instruction and 12 hours in the car. Students must be under 18 and have their Oregon learners permit before class begins. Driver Permit Test Preparation courses are also available.

Adult Driver Education
This class is for adults 18 and over or anyone with a Drivers license and includes 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours in the car. Students must have their Oregon permit or valid Driver License before class begins.

Low Vision - Bioptic - Driver Training
The Low Vision Bioptic Driver Training program is designed for a person issued a special, limited vision conditional learner's permit and has been prescribed special bioptic lenses. The course includes at least 6 hours of observation and 15 hours of driving time.

Bus Driver Training
The Department of Education approved bus driver certification and recertification courses which include, Behind-the-Wheel training, initial CORE, CORE refresher, Laws & Liabilities, Smoke on the bus, and other courses designed for the school bus driver.

15 Passenger Van Training
This course is provided for potential operators of 15 passenger vans as an alert to the special handling of these vehicles.

 

American Heart Association
» First Aid/CPR & Advanced Healthcare Providers

Umpqua Community College serves as a Community Training Center for the American Heart Association. Thousands of community members, medical and emergency professionals, and employees are trained in First Aid, CPR, Basic Life Support, ACLS, and Instructor certification annually. A variety of classes are offered each term.

 

Boater Safety
This course gives you practical and relevant instruction from a trained boating safety instructor. Students who pass the course can apply for their boater education card as required by Oregon's mandatory Boater Education Program. By 2009, all operators of powerboats are required to carry the Boater Education Card.

 

Certified Flagger Training
UCC's Community Education Department offers the 6 hour Certified Flagger Training course to prepare students to be a flagger for work zone traffic control. Successful students receive ODOT Credential for Flaggers, valid for three years in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana.

 

Forklift and Fire Extinguisher Trainings
