Drafting Pathways Certificate
The Drafting Pathways Certificate provides an opportunity for career advancement for employees already working in the field through technical training, provides a career and educational pathway for high school students interested in drafting or engineering, and provides a career and educational pathway for people desiring an entry level, technical position in design and engineering.
Coursework includes three courses in AutoCAD, one course in SolidWorks, and college algebra, with a combined 16 credit hours of courses. Students completing the pathways certificate will be prepared for an entry level drafting position.
The required courses for the pathways certificate are included in the one-year completion certificate for Engineering and Drafting Technician and two-year AAS program for Civil Engineering and Surveying Technology. Students completing the drafting pathways certificate may continue with the one-year completion certificate, two-year AAS, or two-year Engineering Transfer program (depending on math level), if desired.
Engineering technology faculty members at Umpqua Community College have practical experience working in business and industry. Faculty can bring their real world experience into the classroom. Faculty network with employers, and are able to work cooperatively with the UCC Advising and Career Center to assist students with finding internships and permanent employment.
