ASUCC Constitution

Article XVII—Ratification and Amendment

Section 1—Ratification

This Constitution shall take effect when it has been passed by the ASUCC Student Leadership Team and has been ratified by a two-thirds (2/3) majority of the votes cast by the ASUCC student body in any general or special election.

Section 2—Amendments

Amendments may originate in ASUCC Student Leadership Team meetings, where two-thirds (2/3) of the voting members must favor the proposed change, or they may originate by a petition from three hundred (300) students currently enrolled at Umpqua Community College.

The proposed amendment shall, after having been posted for at least two (2) weeks, be presented by ballot to the ASUCC, where it must receive two-thirds (2/3) majority of all votes cast in any general or special election in order to become an amendment to this Constitution.
