New course teaches simple, fun and easy ways to match wines and foods

Roseburg— Enroll in the Umpqua Community College Community Education class “Food & Wine Pairing 101.” The class will run on Tuesdays, April 1 through May 29, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Aromatica’s Feast, 1033 SE Stephens, Roseburg. The class fee for all five classes is $253 and the series course number is 43406. Or register for individual classes, $57 per class:
- April 1 Riesling and Pinot Noir, #43407
- April 15 Gewurztraminer and Merlot, #43408
- April 29 Pinot Gris and Syrah, #43409
- May 13 Infused tasting with Pinot Noir & Chardonnay, #43410

The connection between food and wine is a old as the history of wine but it continues to confound most of us. Join Karene Biedermann of Aromatica’s Feast and Janelle Wilde of Wildevents for a truly savory food/wind experience from aroud the world and right here in the Umpqua. Sign up for individual classes or for the whole series for $253! Each participate will receive a wine aroma wheel, a log book for note-taking, and fabulous food complimenting a flight of white wine and one of red wine each dinner. Class size limited to 12.
