Workshop to get a Contractors License

Roseburg— Umpqua Community College will sponsor a workshop, “Contractors License Training,” offered over five days beginning Tuesday, April 22, with sessions continuing on Wednesday, April 23, Tuesday, April 29, Tuesday, May 6, and Wednesday May 7. All classes take place from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., at UCC Workforce Training Center, 2555 NE Diamond Like Blvd., Roseburg. The cost is $345, and the instructors are Jim Gamble, contractor; Randy Rubin, attorney; Debbie Robertson, Certified Public Accountant; and guest speakers. Pre-registration is required by April 21. The five night course will help students prepare for state license testing. The course will introduce students to CCB information, building codes, test-taking strategies, Oregon lien and contract law, OSHA, BOLI, job site safety, employer requirements, employee rights, taxes, record keeping, business practices, project management, time management, estimating, scheduling, and environmental laws. The Small Business Development Center of Umpqua Community College is a state approved training center, offering this five evening course to help students prepare for state license testing. Cost includes textbook and pre-exam CD.
