Umpqua Community College’s Dual Credit Program
The dual – credit program allows students to enroll in college level classes and earn both college and high school diploma credit at the same time. The high school diploma credits can be applied toward Umpqua Community College’s Adult High School Diploma, which has been approved by the Oregon State Board of Education
*Financial Aid can not be used toward Adult High School Diploma credits.

Does any grade in a class count toward an Adult High School Diploma?
You must earn a C or higher for the credit to be applied toward and Adult High School Diploma.
Are there any other requirements?
Yes. Every Student must complete a career related learning packet to meet state diploma standards. Students are also required to complete the equivalent of 2 high school credits(two 3-credit college classes) through UCC in order to earn a UCC Adult High School Diploma.
What are the costs?
Students released from compulsory attendance are responsible for all costs(tuition, books, and fees). Students on high school referral should check with the school’s policy on what the high school or district will cover. Many will cover tuition, but not books or fees.
Dual credit registration
A student must:
- Be at least 16 years of age
- Obtain a referral to the program or be released from compulsory attendance from your high school if you are under 18.
- Submit an application for admission and pay the one time application fee.
- Take the compass placement test and attend new student orientation.
- Provide official high school transcripts for evaluation prior to registering (these credits must be from a school accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges)
