Administrative Assistant

 

Associate of Applied Science Degree Program


AdminAsstAdministrative Assistant is a two-year Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree program designed to train students in the areas of conducting research, preparing statistical reports, handling information requests, and performing other clerical functions. These can include preparing correspondence, receiving visitors, arranging conference calls, and scheduling meetings. Students take courses that provide them with the basic competencies to begin a career as an administrative assistant. Some courses may be waived on the basis of demonstrated proficiency or experience. NOTE: If you are entering other than fall term you should see your business faculty advisor for help in planning your schedule.

 

Employment Outlook
According to the Oregon Department of Labor, the projected growth rate in this industry state wide is expected to exceed 16% over the next 10 years. Students who complete this certificate can expect to earn $10 - $14 per hour.
